Massage Parties

My Massage Parties/Gatherings

I host monthly massage parties, massage jams and other types of gatherings for massage therapists and bodyworkers so that we can network, build community and get better at what we do.  Click here to see when the next masage party is. If you are looking to host a gathering in your area there are some resources at the bottom of the page.

Community

I like to host massage parties (catch-up-with-friends,  play, trade gatherings) so that I can spend some time with the massage therapists that I am most interested in getting to know, learning from, and being in community with. I also like to invite therapists who just need some help plugging in to a larger network of peers.

Bodywork

I also host them so that we can all give, receive or even just watch some amazing bodywork. There are usually several different types and styles of massage going on.

Table-based or floor-based. Two-handed, four-handed, two-footed, etc. The overall intention is to provide a judgment-free and uber-encouraging space where you can try anything and experience everything!

Special Guests

I arrange for special guests to come to the parties that can share new ideas with us. Most recently my special guests have been Jiva Massaguer, the creator of Sarga Bodywork (pictured on the left) the amazing Luisa Vargas, and Rebecca Joann Brumfield of Bad Ass Bodyworkers.

General Timeline

For an evening get together we get together around 5:00 PM and share some food, stories and laughs. If we have a special guest they start showing off around 6:15 PM and we break up into several rooms and start the massage and bodywork around 7:00 PM.

Virtual Gatherings

We can have virtual gatherings as well. I use these to teach and to plug into other vibrant massage communities around the world as well as to help people start their massage parties so they can help develop a thriving massage community where they live. It is as easy as having a video call hooked up in the main meeting area or someone "zooming" around with a mobile phone.
