Treat Yourself to a Truly Extraordinary Massage Experience!

The underlying technique for all of my bodywork is Deep Lomi. I developed this style using the relaxing full body Hawaiian Lomi styles as a base for my work and then integrating the best techniques from traditional Thai Massage and Thai Yoga as well as techniques from various sports massage and relaxation response modalities. It is, by far, the most well received bodywork by my clients. In my Deep Lomi sessions I use my hands, forearms, elbows, triceps and even my shoulders to facilitate extremely long and luxurious strokes that integrate the entire body and do not force me to work on specific areas in isolation of others. My work is very slow and calming.

Experience to Understand
I often say that you need to experience my work to understand it. This is because it is so many things at the same time and my work changes so much from person to person. My Deep Lomi Massage is profoundly relaxing while at the same time being very deep. Each massage is tailored to each individual client so that you can have the best massage experience possible. No two massages are exactly the same, even with the same client. Every massage should be better than the last one. A little more relaxing, a little deeper here a little lighter there….

Session Length
I recommend at least 90 minutes for a really good, full body massage, primarily because it is just too hard to do the full body justice in only an hour. Warning: Once you have tried a 90 minutes session, it is very difficult to ever feel satisfied with a 60 minute session. I have several clients that have moved on to full 2 hour massages and even a few who enjoy a 3 hour massage/relaxation experience. That being said, if you only have an hour available for your massage, make sure that I know the areas that you want the most attention paid to as well as the areas that you are least concerned about so I can make sure to allocate my time accordingly.

Lingering
I allow plenty of time after your massage for you to linger in the bliss of your massage experience. To extend and deepen your relaxation. You can just relax on the table in my very warm and comfortable massage room, enjoy a hot shower or even take an epsom salt bath in a private bathroom. I have found that many of my clients have significantly appreciated this extra time and that they have had very meaningful experiences during this time as well.

Quality vs Quantity
I limit the number of massages that I give each day to make sure that you get the best massage experience possible. I usually do not do more than two or three massages a day, every now and then I might do four, but that is a rare day. The reason that I do this is because I put a lot of effort, physical and mental, into every massage to make it the best experience possible and that just is not going to happen if I am giving eight massages a day…

Draping
The draping for Lomi Lomi massage is much less modest than the draping that most conventional western massage therapists are using. This is because a Lomi practitioner works with all of the body at the same time, not just specific areas in isolation. For example; when you are on your stomach the back, sides of the glutes and the legs will be uncovered so the therapist can work all of them together.

For my Deep Lomi I have two basic types of draping that you can choose from (and then 100 ways to modify them to make sure you are comfortable). The basic differences are that the Traditional Draping uses a weighted towel to cover the tush-cleavage from your waist to the table while you are on your stomach and the modified draping uses a traditional massage sheet that is folded down to your waist and then folded in to uncover the outside of the glutes and legs. The draping is similar while you are on your side or back with the addition of a soft towel for covering the female client’s chest.

In either case all Lomi work is always best when the client does not wear any undergarments so the practitioner can work from the neck to the ankles in one long stroke. Honestly, almost all massage work is better when the client’s do not wear undergarments if they are comfortable with that. If you want to wear undergarments just to try the work, I recommend wearing a tight fitting bathing suit so it will stay in place while the work is being done.

In all cases it is the client’s comfort that is most important, so I can adjust the draping to each client’s individual comfort level. For example, much of the work can simply be done uncovered with a bathing suit on.
